Sitting Postures

Sitting Postures require a certain flexibility in the ankles, legs & hips. As the feet, legs & hips are closer to & more in contact with the Earth, this stability supports the trunk of the body as well as the mind.

Siddhasana

Siddhasana

Siddhasana is the seated posture used in meditation, where the body is supported on a triangle created by the buttock bones & both knees connected to the Earth. It is this stability that supports not only the body but also the mind.

Virasana

Virasana

Virasana the seated hero. This posture opens the ankles & closes the knee joint.
