Guidelines to help you find a class most suitable to your needs:

What you need and want from your yoga practice will determine the type of class you choose to attend. It's your choice so make sure your needs are met!

  • A gentle relaxing class will replenish energy, suitable for symptoms of severe stress e.g. high blood pressure, asthma, heart disease etc. It can help you feel more centred and calm.
  • A mixed ability class will focus on stretching the body and mind just enough to restore lost energy.
  • The extra stretch class works on a deeper level challenging you both physically, mentally and spiritually to reap the deepest rewards energetically for transformation.

For class you will need the following:

  • Loose comfortable clothes, leggings etc.

  • A yoga mat – there are some in class but it is advisable to purchase your own.

  • A belt and blocks – again there are spares available until you get your own.

  • A blanket for relaxation.

Do's and Dont's for classes:

  • Classes are done in bare feet.

  • Please don’t eat for at least two hours before the class.  It’s ok to drink water before class, but not during.

  • Inform your teacher of any illnesses or injuries you may have, current or old complaints e.g. lower back problems, high blood pressure, arthritis or depression.

  • Also inform your teacher if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.

  • If you are menstruating your body will be warmer than usual.  You may have less energy than usual, so take it a little easier.  Do not do any inversions, e.g. sarvangasana (shoulder stand), sirsasana (headstand) or strong twists and rest whenever you need to rest.
